The course introduces students to market dynamics, specifically the interplay between the demand and supply of labour power to organisations. Issues surrounding wages and salaries and leisure will be discussed explicitly.
Other issues like inflation, unemployment, strikes and grievances among others will be exposed to students in order to make them relate with happenings in the real world.
At the end of this course, students will understand the nature and operation of the labour market, how it functions through the interaction of workers (suppliers of labour services) and employers (demanders of labour services.
