Public administration as a course at this is stage, introduces students to the business of governance as it is practiced by both the professional technocrats and political public office holders. We Emphasized in details the discussion surrounding the Nigeria institutional frameworks such as the Arms Of Government (executives, legislators and the judiciary) Constitution, States and Federal structures, The Civil Service, Local Government, Public Bureaucracies and Public corporation.
Certain concepts that surround governments were also given priority. Among these were the discussions on Power, Authority, Influence, Delegated legislation, Rule of law, Modern day government types among others.
For government to function properly, there must be some checks. Hence in this course we discussed issues such as, Public Finance, Budgetary Control, Public Accountability, Pension Reforms, and Personnel Management Practices in public sector, Public Sector Audit, Financial Warrants in public sectors as well as e-government.
